You Can Help
The mission of the Kansas City String Quartet Program™ is "To nurture young musicians toward artistic excellence through the cooperative study and performance of chamber music under the guidance of a distinguished faculty". Our students study chamber music at a high level, they learn invaluable life skills far beyond musical ones, they meet other students whose interests they share, they learn about instrument maintenance from professional luthiers, and the importance of stretching before the physical exertion of playing a string instrument, and all the while they have tremendous fun. Additionally, our students learn leadership and cooperative skills through string quartet playing.
The program also supports free performances to the community by our internationally renowned faculty comprised of the area’s finest string players and guest artists. Supporting these musicians enhances their quality of life in Kansas City, increasing the chance they will remain here, and thus enhancing ours.
However, tuition can pay only part of the cost of a program like this--approximately one-third. We depend on financial support from individuals, corporations and foundations to make up the balance needed to offer a program of this quality.
The Kansas City String Quartet Program™ is a 501(c)(3)organization and your gift is tax-deductible.
