History
The Kansas City String Quartet Program was founded in 1994 by Elizabeth A.
LaManna, cellist and music educator dedicated to the art and experience of chamber music.As executive and artistic director, LaManna ran the program through summer 1999.
Elizabeth Suh Lane joined the faculty as first violin in 1999 and was Artistic Director 2000
to mid-2010. Chung-Hoon Peter Chun joined the faculty as violist in 2003 and was
appointed Artistic Director in 2010. The String Quartet Program awakens young string
players to the essence of music-making through quartet playing, while developing their
musical skills.
